The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is hosting its second workshop in the State Siting Workshops Series. This workshop will highlight challenges and opportunities associated with engaging host communities and explore the role that state energy offices and other organizations can play in improving community engagement and siting outcomes. Panel discussions will include perspectives from renewable energy developers, local government officials, and state extension offices. They will provide insights into their roles in renewable energy development, approaches for engaging communities considering renewable energy projects, and highlight opportunities to leverage trusted community engagement organizations to support project development.
