The Office of State and Community Energy Programs (SCEP) at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is thrilled to announce selections for the 2024 Renew America’s Schools Prize and Grant, the second round of funding from the Renew America’s Schools Program. Like the first round of awards – the 2022-23 Renew America’s Schools Grant, which saw unprecedented demand for funding – this opportunity is focused on helping K-12 public school districts across America make energy upgrades to decrease energy use and costs, improve indoor air quality, and foster healthier learning environments. To better address the critical need for energy infrastructure upgrades in schools, the 2024 Renew America’s Schools Prize and Grant has evolved to make federal dollars go farther. Utilizing a Prize-to-Cooperative-Agreement (Grant) and portfolio model, the three-phase, $190 million investment will improve more schools, across more states, and directly benefits tens of thousands more students.
